Lermond Engineering Limited was engaged to undertake the podium bored piling works under Contract WP31220 for the Venetian Cotai development in Macau. The project formed part of a major integrated resort development within Cotai, comprising hospitality, entertainment, retail, and tourism facilities that contribute to Macau's position as a leading international leisure destination.
The works involved extensive pre-drilling operations and the construction of large diameter bored pile foundations to support the proposed podium structures and associated developments. Given the scale of the project and demanding construction programme, multiple piling rigs and specialist construction teams were deployed simultaneously to maintain progress while meeting stringent safety, quality, and technical requirements.
The project included the construction, testing, and verification of bored piles together with reinforcement cage fabrication, interface coring tests, sonic testing, and related quality assurance activities. Detailed planning and coordination were required throughout the construction process to ensure compliance with project specifications and programme targets.
