Lermond Engineering Limited was engaged to undertake the excavation and lateral support (ELS), foundation, and pile cap works for the residential development at Ap Lei Chau Inland Lot No. 137, Ap Lei Chau Praya Road, Hong Kong. Situated within a densely developed waterfront district, the project required the integration of complex foundation engineering and geotechnical works within a constrained urban site environment.
The works included the construction of large diameter bored piles ranging from 2500mm to 3000mm in diameter, together with pre-bored socketed H-piles, pile caps, and associated foundation works. Extensive excavation and lateral support works were also carried out, including pipe pile walls, grout curtain systems, and temporary retaining structures to facilitate excavation and basement construction works safely and efficiently.
Given the scale of the development and the complex site conditions, careful planning, engineering coordination, and construction sequencing were critical to project success.
